Art may jolt you or sing you a lullaby. In either case it should cause you to look twice and then let you discover what you knew would be there all along, only surprisingly better than you thought it could ever be.

Nationally renowned sculptor Gary Mitnik has studied art almost all his life. It started at the age of thirteen when he was chosen to attend a special art workshop at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. It was there that he developed his understanding of human and animal anatomy.

Mitnik’s ability in design led him to a 38 year career in the aerospace industry, designing and building advanced test models. While working full time in California, he studied sculpture by taking evening classes at Orange Coast College. Since moving to Sedona, Arizona in 1996, he has attended several sculpture workshops, constantly improving and honing his talents with instructors Eugenia Everett, Ken Ottinger and John Coleman.

Mitnik’s sculptures mirror his longtime fascination and interest in the human experience. His work depicts a wide variety of authentic figurative studies as well as inspiring contemporary settings and wildlife narratives.

Exhibiting at selected shows in the west, he was honored to take part in the "Experience Art" invitational at Huntington Beach, California in 1994, and the annual Sedona Sculpture Walk for the last six years. In addition, his work is in both private and corporate collections throughout the country. Mitnik is an associate member of the National Sculpture Society and has been a featured artist at numerous galleries throughout the southwest.
